Connection

I've bitched and moaned many times before about the fact that I would never see the Stones in concert since they've seemingly forgotten about 90% of their own songs and lazily plow through Start Me Up and Paint It Black every night. One of those forgotten songs would be Connection, off the criminally overlooked 1966 album  Between the Buttons (actually January 1967, but FEELS more like 1966), and one of my top 5 Stones cuts of all time. It's always been, in my mind, one of those songs you could bring up to the Stones and they'd have no idea what the fuck song you're talking about.

Meanwhile, you can't seem to swing a dead rat tied to my dick around these days without hitting some publicity about the re-release of Exile on Main Street, so imagine my surprise when on Jimmy Fallon the other night Keith Richards mentioned that a "hidden gem" from their catalog he wouldn't mind dusting off and rocking live was Connection. Suuuuuper-slice!  Enjoy.

  1. Um, maybe it's been a while but, I was under the impression "Connection" and "Happy" were part of Keith's mini set during Stones concerts. (He used to play both with The Expensive Winos, tho.)
