"Is That a Titlist?"

About a year ago I was marveling at this somewhat freakishly brilliant use of gravitational assist. Then I stumbled upon this little nugget:
Number of people killed in space program: 22
Number of people killed by vending machines EVERY YEAR: 13
And now we're watching people struggling for weeks to come up with a way to stop an oil leak, and the best idea so far is "clog it up with bits of tires and golf balls!"

I'm wondering if our best guys are on the case with this one.
