John Lewis

Impassioned speech on Gay rights from Rep. John Lewis - I love it anytime he gets in the news cause his book, Walking with the Wind: A Memoir of the Movement, is still my favorite on the Civil Rights Movement. As the chairman of SNCC, Lewis was the Forrest Gump of that era - seemingly at every important moment of the movement, passionate yet logical while chaos swirled around him. Watch the short speech and then do yourself a favor and read the book. The most intimate, thoughtful first-hand account I've read yet.

ps - the Gump reference is to him being at every important moment, not the passionate/logical part. Obviously.
