Stimulus Packages.

Exponential : Relating to a mathematical expression containing one or more exponents. Something is said to increase or decrease exponentially if its rate of change must be expressed using exponents. A graph of such a rate would appear not as a straight line, but as a curve that continually becomes steeper or shallower.

I've seen a bunch of articles throughout the last week re: should Obama spend a LOT on his economic stimulus plan, or a WHOLE FUCKING LOT on his economic stimulus plan. To me, this is a joke - seriously, if there's anything we've learned over the last few months isn't it that none of this money is even real in the first place? Anyone else think the Madoff guy is in the basement of the Treasury, cranking out bills on a grease-slimed dye?

Republicans will object as McConnell did, and pretend to hem and haw about your nickels and dimes, but that's just their buyer's remorse over voting twice for the most Socialist president since Ho Chi Minh.

The fact is, why would you choose between the lesser of two packages? Think about it. This is a time that requires greatness in this country. Like the onset of WWII, or the space race, or keeping the Union together. What two things would you say all three of these examples have in common?

1) Each succeeded wildly.
2) At no point after success did the sitting president say "yeah, that was great and all, but gee, I wish we would've done it with less money..."

No. Doesn't happen. If we're gonna roll the dice with a package, go with the one that uses as much money as possible, therein at least gambling for exponential returns. Any talk otherwise is simply McConnell-esque nonsense. As I've said before:
While bashing the diarrhea of spending throughout the last eight years was applicable during the election since "financial conservatism" is a basic tenet of the Republican Party, I feel any "outrage!" over government spending in general is fairly hypocritical. "Over-spending" loosely translates to "not spending money on shit I want." With their daddy/small dick issues there is no amount of money you can get a right-winger to admit is too much for Defense, and the same goes for liberals when it comes to bunnies/rainbows/tree-hugging etc. But to act like you're against government spending as a philosophy or cause you know what's best for the country is bullshit. -XMASTIME Nov 2008

This is not the time to undershoot. Period. And I believe my Republican friends out there will have to agree with me that if we OVERshoot then, well...bailout! Thanks, guys!
