This July 4th marks the 20th anniversary of the last Replacements show (thanks for the tape, Gnat!) I wonder if anything will be made of it - between the movie that (I think) is finished and this Facebook site, there seems to be some real momentum to Replacements nostalgia. Obviously everyone's hoping the remaining members will pop up in some random bar somewhere and play their asses off before disappearing for another 20 years, but I doubt it.
Of all the Replacements stories everyone loves to tell, my favorite will always be the one about the time they played at a benefit for some kid who was trying to get a kidney transplant. His body had already rejected two attempted transplants, and when they walked onstage to play Paul Westerberg said "This fucker better fit, 'cause we ain't coming back."
Ha!

The movie is out and playing around the country. I should be getting my advance copy in the next couple of weeks for donating to the cause like a year and half ago. My name should end up somewhere in the credits. Since you can't be bothered to frequent the arthouses where the movie may eventually show, i will burn you one when i get it.
my fight to end funding for the arts marches on! ;)
(I wont hafta call you "Producer Gnat", will I?)
Hah, the casting couch is already open for business, no-what-im-saying.
