Like anyone with a normal-sized brain, I wanna just have some laughs with the whole bus tour thing and be done with it. Watch her prance her fine ass around and let the media make a fool of themselves, fine by me. But already, it's not funny anymore. There's the overly-odd chutzpah of claiming it's an "under the radar family vacation", while talking to FOX News on a bus that can be seen from outer space. Then it's brazenly lecturing people at historic landmarks, scolding those she can imply to whom such history doesn't mean as much to them as it does her. There's causing entire streets to be closed off so she can pretend to show her historical curiosity. Then there's being reminded once again who she really is, Rachel McAdams from Mean Girls, whose raison d'etre is to flirt in order to embarrass whomever she doesn't like. and, worse, training her kid to act like a human shield.
My uneasiness doesn't come from "oh my god, she might be president!" It comes from her whole not telling the media where she's going of course puts everybody on high alert, ready to burst out on the highway like they're in the General Lee to be a part of whatever convoy can latch onto her; eventually someone will be the Lady Di to their paparazzi. Does ANYONE not have a feeling this is going to end badly? Not for her, of course. She showed no remorse for the Tucson crosshairs stuff; you KNOW she's cackling with glee every time some cub reporter's careening off an exit on two wheels to keep up. But the shit's turned from comical to sinister rather quickly, in my eyes. Something's happening. Too much of a mix of messianic calling and moving parts, none of which seems to be clear to anybody. We're all fools for even paying attention, but I am officially uneasy.
