Today's "Wow, There's No WAY They'd Get Away with This in Today's PC World" TV Moment
The White Shadow. A new freshman (Haywood Nelson - Dwayne from What's Happenin!!!) is telling Coach Reeves his mother won't let him play basketball, cause he might get hurt. To whit from Coach:
"Come on, you could get hurt doing anything! You could get hurt on a ladder, or on a bus...or eating chicken! Your mother let's you eat chicken, doesn't she?"
"No no, it's cool man. I've got a black friend!"

May have heard this from rrthur (yes ladies, him) years back, but wasn't there a rock band, nay, more than one, that did a tribute to "The White Shadow?"
It went something like this: Band comes on stage dressed as the dudes from the Carver High hoops squad. (Awesome!) Plays a hard-rocking set of songs about the show and individual characters on the show. (Awesomer!) And, between certain songs, proceed to do layups on a goal they brought with them and put on the stage! (Awesomest!)
Tell me I'm not dreaming that this kind of excellence has previously existed?
i love musical tributes to TV shows but frankly, don't care much for the cheesy mockery of the Brady Kids, who gave it thier all. How bout those costumes?
