I've always said my favorite games are those mid-season, mean-nothing games with Ken Singleton and Bobby Murcer easing you through the 9 innings, drawling story after story and laughing.
Just this morning I was ranting to myself re: the last game in Yankee Stadium being aired on ESPN, meaning the hometown broadcast team wouldn't get the honor. I was pissed; it should be the real announcers saying goodbye to the Stadium, not anyone else.
Unfortunately, Bobby won't be there.
So long, Bobby. Damn place won't be the same without you.

I guess Bobby's playing on the Field of Dreams now.
