For ONCE, Maybe He's Not Lying?
The thing about McCain's "the fundamentals of our economy are strong" comment today is that technically, he may be right. I'm sure an economist could walk me through and explain that actually, the things which the economy is actually based on are, in fact strong. If you parse his words literally, he may be right. Theoretically, our economy is based upon a set of fundamentals that could be used to build the economy again.
You know what else was "fundamentally strong"? The Titanic. You know, before itthrew a trillion dollars down a hole in Iraq/spent hundreds of billions of dollars bailing out rich people hit an iceberg.
