I feel like McCain tried to come out hard/positive, but quickly slumped down to cranky. I'd be surprised if he picked up 10 votes. I'm a little disappointed that, after saying it in the very beginning of the segment, Obama didn't remind us 10 minutes later that during such times as these, McCain spent so much time crying about his hurt feelings re: campaign ads. He must've REALLY been hurt at the Hanoi Hilton when they wouldn't give him a happy ending. And if he was genuinely caught off guard by Obama answering that his fine would be "$0", then he's an idiot.
Also, it's time for somebody to say it: McCain looks awful. That paper-mache ghost-white head with the scary, forced smile, camon. He's better off not smiling; it's just unsettling. Obama's alarmingly easy to look at, with the ball-bearings smile; and then there's McCain. Yeesh.
At least the moderator was good. Obama as usual was calm, cool, hyper-fixed on point. But seriously for next time: is it too much to ask during one of these things for one of the guys to get up in the middle, grab a magazine, say "be right back" and then come back 10 minutes later? Camon!
