Reading is GOP

Via Sully I just learned that Glenn Beck passed out copies of Cleon Skousen’s Five Thousand Year Leap. Which means that along with Ayn Rand's Atlas Shrugged, the right has TRIPLED it's required reading in a matter of weeks. Wow!!

QUESTION: You have been in a coma for ten years. And now you awake. And you are tapped to decide upon which book to base The Republican Party's ideology - a decision which will directly affect both how you persuade voters to choose elected officials, and how those elected officials will enact legislation that will propel policy on things like the economy, warfare, education, healthcare and scientific advances, among other things. Looking at these brief summaries of the GOP required reading list, which one would you choose?

1) a no-nonsense railroad executive, and her attempt to keep the company alive despite repeated encroachments by a society moving toward collectivism, altruism, and statism.

2) tells of the 28 fundamental beliefs of the Founding Fathers which they said must be understood and perpetuated by every people who desired peace, prosperity, and freedom. These beliefs have made possible more progress in 200 years than was made previously in over 5,000 years.

3) talking snake convinces man to eat an apple, 930 years later man dies, burning bush talks to another guy who takes 40 years to lead people around desert, guy turns water into wine and walks on water before being raised to live with his father, who lives up in the sky somewhere.
