Counting Crows have parted ways with their label after almost 20 years, and front man Adam Duritz wants to explain the situation. In a heartfelt letter on the band’s Web site, Duritz writes of the label, Geffen, “We’ve been friends for a long time and we’ve worked together for a long time so they understand the direction we need to go in and we understand why they can’t go there with us. We all want what’s best for everyone, which is why we’ve decided to part ways.”
It's a good thing Duritz is out in front of the press with this; otherwise there might be riots in the streets once people dust off their 1993 Is Amazing! scrapbooks and vaguely remember who the fuck the Counting Crows are. Bullet? Dodged.
