Cat Fight

I suppose it's only natural for me to compare Marco White's The Chopping Block to Gordon Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares - Marco was Gordon's mentor, and as you know I'm in love with Gordon and his show.

Watching Marco ooze onscreen is thrilling: he's huge, sweaty and magnificent, dripping with charisma. Every word and body movement is to be clung to. But the big difference is that unlike Gordon, who sometimes seems to care TOO much, I never really feel like Marco remotely knows there are people in the room, much less gives two shits about them. He'll breeze in, say something, then breeze out. Meanwhile Gordon is pleading with people to save their own livelihoods, lending a shoulder for their alcoholism, pushing and pushing them etc.

I'll prolly keep watching The Chopping Block just cause watching Marco is fascinating, aloof as he may be. But he's not Gordon.
