...to anyone who knows anyone who has ever heard of, or even remotely sensed the presence of, anyone they've ever known/seen/been in the same state as someone who has used a dental dam. I mean, camon.

My mom was a dental assistant for a few years, so I have seen one before - at the dentist's office. Don't even mention my mom, Xmas. . .

AAMOF, my dentist, Dr. Bode, of Howell, NJ, commonly uses the 'dantal dam' during a certain phase of the root canal, as I understood it, to prevent certain potentially caustic chemicals from coming in contact with the delicate mucous membranes of the mouth, digestive tract or upper respiritory system.
