Moi HERE.
Of course there will be a lot of hyperventilating about how racist the GOP is, but I feel like this is less because of any racism as much as it is the nouveau-GOP notion of victory through victimhood. Let's all be real honest: Shay won this election the moment the big, bad, left-wing, liberal media sniffed out the story, forcing the GOP to circle it's wagons and make sure that blue states knew good and well that they had no business sniffin' round their house. Cutting off it's nose to spite it's blackface, one might say. Of course Shay knew the EXACT right thing to say:
Shay responded that the allegations against her were “political attacks” which “proves that my opponents will stoop to the lowest levels to steal this election from the jaws of victory.”
The minute the media picked up on her racism story Shay won the election - the only thing that could've made things even easier woulda been to find out her opponent has been to France. Kudos.

Your girl stepped up nicely:
Before the election, Meghan McCain urged the group not to choose hate by electing Shay: “What exactly do the Young Republicans expect to achieve by electing a 38-year-old woman who thinks racial epithets are acceptable?”
I'm going to assume that Ms. McCain knows there are segments of her party that are tired of hiding their true feelings and she would like to see these folks marginalized. But they are a godsend for Democrats. Of course, in the grand scheme of things they are nothing less than a cancer on society. So, there you go...
