And Fuck the Knicks, Just Because

I just flipped to the 1989 NBA All-Star Game on ESPN Classic for a minute, and of couse the lineups are wall-to-wall Hall of Famers. I don't wanna get all misty/old-man "the game was better back then" curmudgeon here, but Moses Malone just scored and the announcers spent a few minutes marveling over Moses having gone straight from high school to the NBA - "one of only three players in the history of the NBA to do that," according to Dick Stockton. Meanwhile, Golden State just drafted some yet-to-be-ejaculated sperm out of Chicago; what can you say, the game has changed.

Of course my favorite All-Star line from an announcer is Tommy Heinsohn from the 1984 game: "Bird is going to be a good player." Hmm.
