Derek Jeter just tied Lou Gehrig's career hits record for the Yankees. I wonder how many I've seen, watching games on tv. I'd be surprised if it was lower than 2,200, 2,300. As an A-Rod apologist I get (foolishly) frustrated by Jeter devotion, but when he retires I'm gonna cry my eyes out; my Yankee fandom has mirrored his career.

Rare non-Jeter loving, partial to A-Rod, Yankee fan here. (Didn't know there were any more of us out there.) I don't hate the guy; just don't feel comfortable w/his deification. And these last few days it's been unbearable. (Feel the same way about Albert Pujols, by the way.)
Have you heard Jeter's dad speak? He reminds me of Cleveland from Family Guy.
Im comfortable with it now. dude deserves every accolade he gets. remember, its not an either/or game when it comes to jeter/a-rod. ive been defensive of a-rod, but if we were reading about jeter in some history book, we'd revere him. like i said, when jeter leaves, im gonna cry like a baby.
So do you refuse to watch the Yanks during his 11 game hitting slumps too? Zing.
i was at the game a few nights ago. 0 for 4! was there! :)
I think Jeter is worthy of a top ten spot on everyones list..
