Bérenger Sauníere

Earlier today I read a story about Bérenger Sauniére, and was pretty fucking creeped out re: his role in the Rennes-le-Chareau creepiness; including the local legend that the priest that visited him on his deathbed was told the secret of Sauniére's wealth and reappeared visibly shaken and "never smiled again," Sauniére having told him that he had found Christ's grave and could therein prove Christ never ascended into heaven, thereby leading the Catholic Church to shower him with money to shut him up. Interested in looking up those Henry Lincoln docs on the BBC.

apparently The Da Vinci Code, which I will never read, cause it's for dumbshits, was partly based on dude via Lincoln's Holy Blood Holy Grail. Which, just by the title, is scary as fuck.
