Since you've heard it 50000 times you take it for granted, and since it's not done by one of his girl groups you don't think of it as a Phil Spector song; therein is it possible that You've Lost That Loving Feeling is actually an UNDER-rated classic? Fucking christ. And Hal Blaine's drums are somehow overlooked here, in what might be his second-best performance behind Then He Kissed Me.
It's hard to imagine as being possible, but are we all sleeping on You've Lost That Loving Feeling? Trite, wedding reception by-the-numbers crap, or desert island slice?
Side Note: in my own version of "athlete takes signing bonus and buys Maserati," the first time I got a big check from my old real estate job ($9,000) I went straight to Times Square and bought the Phil Spector box set, which for some reason heretofor (thentofor?) I had thought out of my reach. Also, I got a tug job from an Asian chick. Okay, that's not true. But woulda been cool. But then, so woulda turning into a werewolf in the middle of a high school basketball game, so. Life, eh? A kick in the vas deferens.
