THIS JOINT on reading blogs or books has been going around today. My thoughts are that any online reading, no matter how substantiative (and, obviously, there's tons of amazing shit you can read online), tends to have a pseudo-Cliff Notes feel. For instance, reading about Martin Luther King on Wikipedia is NOT a waste of time. You're certainly better off having taken the time to read it than not having read it. But you'd be even MORE better off if you read Parting the Waters by Taylor Branch. And I guess one more plus to reading things online is that it could lead you to reading actual books if there was a spark of interest about the subject.
Of course, what you should always NOT be doing is watching the godawful Satisfaction and debating on which girl rock band movie is more cringingly shitty, it or Prey for Rock and Roll. Yeesh.
