For some reason I've had Oxford, MS on my mind lately. Just like when I stumbled upon Iris DeMint, somehow I randomly landed on Austin City Limits one night featuring some dude I ain't never heard of before, Todd Snyder. Every song they played sounded like great single after great single - in fact, it was pretty much the track listing for what was about to be his debut record, Songs for the Daily Planet. An A++ record.
But for some reason, it's never occurred to me to listen to any record of his since. And this was 1995. Maybe they're amazing. Probably. But man, I fucking wore this record out; including the big single, Alright Guy. Which, I see now, had the worst video of all time. Wtf?
Anyway. Great album.
