Is U2 the only example of a band who has many, many albums that I love and yet my favorite song is still the leadoff track on their debut album? (I'm not counting Bad (Live), as it's a live joint.)
Back during the xmas holidays in 1980, one of my more memorable drunken evenings was shooting pool at my friend David’s house with David and my college roommate Alex as we listened to that album over and over and over. David went to UVa and was in some BMOC social club with your hero Jeff Lamp and some other tall guy named Ralph. What is interesting about this evening is that my roommate went on to be a writer/ executive producer for “The Middle”, and now David runs Bono’s non profit the One Campaign, and I spend my time sitting around and reading your blog. Proof positive, I believe, that great music can change you and inspire you to do great things. Like knowing who to come to to discover what songs are the sliciest of slices.

It's definitely one of their very best; a great opening salvo.
