One of the worst elements of what has come to be known as the “Dick Cheney energy bill” had a direct role in eliminating the kind of regulatory oversight that may have prevented the blowout of BP’s Mississippi Canyon 252 well on April 20 of this year:

Section 390 of the legislation dramatically expanded the circumstances under which drilling operations could forgo environmental reviews and be approved almost immediately under so-called “categorical exclusions” from the National Environmental Policy Act.

The use of such exclusions went on to widespread abuse under the Bush administration. BP’s blown-out well did not undergo an environmental review thanks to a categorical exclusion. BP was lobbying as recently as April to expand the use of such exclusions.

If there was an Xmastime Mad Libs book and you were asked "okay, now something sexy Xmas says to roll his eyes about how stupid people are" you might say "of course people won't do anything about this, since god forbid you wake up tomorrow as the CEO of BP."  But the shit's too exhausting. I need a young intern to do this shit so I can focus more on titties. Every day, there's another state determined to make it's kids' dumber just to please a small group of jagoffs who read the Constitution on the back of a Denny's menu (btw, I'm still trying to find any outrage from Rick Perry about Bush's brilliant No Child Left Behind policy on Google), or yet another state that is determined to keep it's poor and sick broke and dead, and the dead people cheer the loudest. I mean, look at J-Woww, you think she gives two shits about any of that? Hell no. Not only is she nice enough to have some of the biggest juggs on the planet, but she's still thoughtful enough to say "sure!" when a photographer says "hey, how about you bend over and wave your ass for us to sniff -  oh yeah, and wear this bottom that inquires as to whether your amorous partner is fully inserted into your ass?"

That's fucking leadership. I need less WWXD? and more WWJWWD?
