Before the internet, did anybody really "track" or give two shits about something that apparently exists called the MLB Draft? I mean, really?

I remember getting the Topps "#1 Pick" cards and thinking to myself, Well it'll be a least a decade before this guy crosses the Mendoza line or has an ERA below 7.50. Al Leiter was a Rated Rookie for what seemed like seven years. MLB draft is reateardsded.
