Burning Up
This heat wave has officially upgraded me from "grousing about the heat cause I'm a baby" to full on panic. I've slept maybe 3 hours in two nights. My loft is an oven; the fan I have 2 feet away from me feels more like a campfire than a cooling agent. This morning I thought about something Brothatime!! told me once in his early days at business school, some exercise they did wherein they were asked how they would ration out a certain amount of water if their plane had crashed and they were in the middle of a desert somewhere, and the right answer it turned out was to drink as much as possible right away, since at that point your brain would still be at it's most rational and you had a better chance of making good decisions; after that it would be wasted. So I've got two pitchers filled with ice water right next to me and I have already plowed through them, desperate to get as much water into myself as possible. I'm rewatching the John Adams HBO series for the 50th time and skipping through to any scenes with snow. I ahte the fucking heat. It's impossible to get anything done. Oh, goody - now I see that today's humiidty here is going to make it feel like 105 degrees. That's awesome.
