Life is a Pearl Fryer

3 weeks and still waiting for the vinyl delivery. Did they print them to order? They need some distribution help to reach Billboard chart heights. But I am looking forward to the day. . .
How much would it take to have Davie B. and Jack White do a Rock Opera of Tale of Two Cities. Dave is definitely Sidney Carton. He tries to win Lucy Manette's (Neko Case) love but sacrifices himself for the more privileged Rock and Roller (White as Darnay).
Of course the irony is that the man least regarded and always viewed as a bit of a reprobate actually has more integrity than anyone involved in the proceedings. He becomes as Christ-like as one can be in the modern age, giving his life in exchange for a single soul, as opposed to the entirety of humanity. And indeed, is that not more noble than Jesus' sacrifice? Giving one's life to save EVERYONE is a rather easy choice, a no-brainer. Giving one's life to save a single person is a much tougher decision. Perhaps analogized by the sweat spilled at a Marah show versus the equivalent effort by a more popular artist at a stadium. The effort and commitment are the same on paper, but to completely throw one's self into a performance for the sake of 35 people in a back alley bar might be psychologically more fraught than doing so for a six figure guarantee at the local mega-stadium.
