More LBJ

Just so I can pat myself on the back when The Sports Guy says the same thing later on today re: Make a Wish or Major League, heres a few things I said to Brothatime!! about LBJ:
the funny thing is that Miami doesn't make the top spot for any of the criteria youd think would be on LeBron's list. Money/legacy/legacy vs. Jordan/worldwide brand/loyalty/Disney-fied hometown team championship run etc etc. The only thing you could say Miami led the other teams with was the chances of winning a title in 2011. Which, as I said, I'm not betting the farm on anyways. Plus, LeBron's 25 - does he have cancer? Is this some incredibly strange version of the Make a Wish Foundation? Why the panic?

It's a bit of being an Armchair Therapist, but surely someone in the media will make the snarky remark that LeBron passed on a true run at greatness the same way they've gotten on him for passing the ball to someone else for the final shot in a close game. now he can hide behind Wade/Bosh. the happiest dude in the country last night was Kobe, who, at least in my eyes, surpassed LBJ in the run to be MJ 2.0

and eff the Heat!!!

LeBron's biggest fault as a superstar will, in the end, most likely be that he's just not an asshole. even Magic, who would spend the game smiling et al, surely was cracking the whip behind closed doors. you know wouldn't see Bird or MJ or Russell pull some whiny, mopey pouting act in a deciding playoff game because one of their teammates was banging their mother. they'd punch them out like Roger Dorn did to Rick Vaughn at the end of Major League, but they'd get the W first.
Side note: last night I posted a quote on A-Rod in Seattle, and then this morning I see more:
In the eighth, Rodriguez drew a walk while the Seattle crowd literally dropped dollar bills from the second deck. They booed him throughout the game, but Rodriguez kept his head. With runners at first and second, Rodriguez alertly took third on a pitch in the dirt. It’s the only way Jorge Posada was able to drive in the tying run by grounding into a double play.
“It’s a big ballpark and runs are at a premium in this park,” Rodriguez said. “I knew that Sweeney was a changeup master. I was just looking for a ball in the dirt and somehow get to third base.”
If a city like Seattle can still be so pissed, I can't imagine what Cleveland's gonna do. Will be fun to watch!!

Seattle needs to give that shit a rest.
It always shocks me that fans want athletes to do shit they wouldn't. I mean would you stay at your job if someone offered you more money and better or similar conditions elsewhere? Or conversely, if your boss told you next year he wants you to perform your duties for a quarter or half of what you're making this year, would you stay? So, why heap this bullshit on athletes? Envy? Fuck that.

Actually, my brother nailed it:

"People that would leave their jobs in a heartbeat for a $100/wk raise elsewhere, demand that someone with just a few years to work in their given profession turn down millions of dollars. Yeah, right."
