Thanks 43!!!!

Whenever the legacy of Dubyanuts does something good, I like to give the dude credit, as with HERE when I applauded him for being making me learn to love the French. He also pumped some life into the porn industry, for which I certainly will stand up and applaud.

And now, since years ago he took the steering wheel and drove the economy so far into the shitter, it looks like it is once again possible to get married without having to be a member of the Miami Heat.

In Maine this summer, one bride substituted a baked potato bar for a traditional five-course meal at the reception. Other brides have replaced costly gourmet cakes from bakeries with homemade Rice Krispies treats and chocolate chip cookies.
Thanks Dubs!!  As you know, I've thought for a while about how unnecessarily fucking retardedly expensive weddings have become, especially as they've come to mean less and less:
I've noticed that college has become one of those rare things that the more useless and market-flooded it is, the more expensive it is. What the hell does being a college graduate even mean anymore?

Today it occurred to me that a similar juxtaposition has been happening with the modern wedding - the more inured we've become to the outrageously absurd high costs of a wedding (ie $10k for a cake that nobody really gives a shit about), the higher the divorce rate rises. The more we insist on being made to pay for weddings, the less likely we'll be married as time goes on. Wtf?
Hopefully Bush & Co. won't fuck up kiddie parties for a coupla more years, since I'm still enjoying them way too much  :)

My history in crack-a-lacking at weddings.

Does that feel as good as a Scatman?

It sure looks like it.

I'm going to try it.
