I've re-posted it so many times I'm not gonna bother linking to my "the paradox of college tuition skyrocketing in inverse proportion to it's value" post anymore, but Jonathon Chait makes the point I've been saying for years now:

Education has gotten far more expensive without improving much.

UPDATE: oh goody, kids aren't ready for college anyways.
