Innocent, Naive Question

If you pray for people in a plane crash, won't you just piss off the very God that made the plane crash in the first place?  Are we to assume that NOW God might be interested in helping these people, and not when the plane was plummeting towards the Earth?  Seems a bit moody, don't it?
