Incredibly, it's now been 15 years since Cal Ripken passed the Iron Horse. Personally, I'm still more impressed that within that streak he had a stretch of 8,243 consecutive innings played.

I wonder if before that season they made sure the record-breaking came would be played in Baltimore. I don't know if they monkey around with such things, but it seems like it would've been a nice thing to do.

Also nice? Let A-Rod play some shortstop so he can break Cal's home run record! Camon!
