Historical Rarities

I'm not a historian so I cannot say exactly how rare it is, but I feel like 9/11 is unique in how we've talked ourselves into being MORE frightened over an event as time has gone on. And with the media and politics being what they are now, I'm guessing it's not going to be so rare in the future.
