The summer of 1985 was probably the last time I believed in the radio. Within a few months I had found bands I would love forever, like the Ramones and the Replacements, and I would realize there was an entire world out there that wasn't coming at me every morning on the Q Morning Zoo.
Some songs would slip through and were great, but none as good as the music I was discovering. But the songs of that summer, I'll always look back on with wonder. Gay much? (cue Daniel Stern kicking off the snare to Turn! Turn! Turn!)
And we all know that in spite of all the talk that summer about Bruce, and Prince, and Tina, and the Coug, there was one song. And only one song. And that was last time that summer seemed to last forever.
