Private Sector

It's curious to me that we're led to believe that believers in the genius of the free market are the ones sitting around chewing their fists waiting for the government to somehow signal to them re: the "uncertainty" of the markets et al. As in, I thought the markets ran the markets, not government tea leaves.

Greed is the greatest component of the free market. For us to be led to believe that the government somehow controls anyone's moods is nonsense. If you believe this "the market's nervously waiting for the government" nonsense, you're a fool. If "the market" could make a dollar right now betting on you sweating the government, they would. Period.
