Although back in the day The Beatles and Dylan would regularly did it, by the 70's bands having "Irish Twins," ie albums released within the same calender year, was fairly irregular. The two greatest examples to me have always been The Ramones' Leave Home and Rocket to Russia, and Husker Du's New Day Rising and Flip Your Wig. All four albums are A+++++ albums, and I wouldn't even bother arguing, but I always go Leave Home and New Day Rising. However, the difference between each winner and loser is so tiny, that space doesn't even exist.
Soul Asylum's Made to Be Broken and While You Were Out are on the next level.
