A year ago, almost to the day, I wrote HERE about Bob Keane dying, and I mentioned how much I fucking LOVE Marshall Crenshaw's version of Crying, , Waiting, Hoping. I worship Buddy Holly like no one I know, so you know that if I say I like a cover of a Buddy Holly song better than his own, it must be amazing.
ANYhoo, Xmastime buddy Tinsel & Rot takes on the La Bamba soundtrack HERE. It's a great soundtrack (duh), plus I can honestly say I've prolly seen the flick 20 times (it helps I had the hots for Richie's mom.)
