Just like with Memorial Day, my favorite part of Martin Luther King Day is watching various talk show hosts throughout the day trying to out-do each other with the "hey, let's not forget what today is REALLY about," trying to over-genuflect and over-be in awe of King, as if they're the first ones to discover the Civil Rights Movement. EVERYONE else just sees it as a day off, a reason to sleep late and fart on their couch, but of course the wife from
King of Queens "gets it," and can barely stop herself from choking up while reading the cue cards about what it all means to her. Of course.
