Just a theory. I mean come on, you’re in prison cause you held up a 7-11 with a water pistol to get money for some Air Jordans, am I REALLY supposed to believe that on the outside you had a constant stream of amazing trim? Camon. I think you fail to distinguish between prison rape and consensual sex that happens to be between two guys who are nominally straight but now find themselves in prison.
Prison rape is just that. Brutal. I do not know if we 'accept' it. I doubt you could stop it. I fear it more than accept it.
Now, consensual sex in prison between two guys. I think it vital to remember that prison is a very abnormal situation. Humans are not meant to be caged. That plus the alienation, lonliness, and dehumanization that one experiences in prison, is enough to compell you to seek some kind of comfort.
You yourself might be in an extended dry spell. But the possibility of ending that dry spell is always there. Not so in prison, where you may be staring at a forced 20 year dry spell.
I doubt John Gotti ever fucked a dude while in the joint.
I always find it interesting that even homophobic mafia types--those 50 or younger; the old timers would never fuck a dude--are given a free pass by their peers and colleagues when it comes to prison sex.
