3) Am I the only one waiting for the Bin Laden box set? Hasn’t he “released” enough videotapes/audiotapes etc to put something together by now? And wouldn’t those be great liner notes?Turns out I might get my wish, since we've got five more unreleased tapes of Bin Laden, including one with outtakes!
Track 1: “Zarqawi’s Dead” – oooh, this was a great session, if I remember right. We had been out all night the night before, and my cameraman Gus asked if I wanted to postpone but I said fuck it, let’s roll tape and see what we come up with. Hell, I just let ‘er rip free-stylin, and we didn’t change a thing in the editing, was fucking awesome. I think I got mixed up about which one of us was a lion and which was an emir, but the energy was there so we left it in, and if you look closely you can see Tariq-Aziz’ pajama video was a big influence. Hey, we had fun with it that day. Thanks again to Gus (hey- I want my Aerosmith ’79 bootlegs back! Just kidding.) - XMASTIME*
