Good Grief, Willie!

I just watched an interview with SF Giants Hall of Famer Willie McCovey, and then came to find out that he was mentioned in a Peanuts cartoon after his scorched line drive was snagged by the Yankees' Bobby Richardson to end the 1962 World Series, along with a subsequent strip a month later.  This means he joins Mercury astronaut Scott Carpenter in the "Celebrities mentioned in Peanuts" club (also in 1962!)  I wonder who else is in that club?

Also, McCovey never mentioned his being in Peanuts during the interview.  Wtf?  I realize he's an incredibly accomplished man, but I'd tattoo "I was in freakin' Peanuts!" tattooed to my forehead if I could.
