Obama Gave Us a Second Great Depression and All I Got Was This Lousy T-Shirt

via:
"Now is a time for choosing. Now is your time for choosing.  As I pointed out to John Boehner yesterday, despite what the pundits in Washington are telling you, it is you and not Obama who hold most of the cards. Obama has a legacy to worry about. Should the United States lose its bond rating, it will be called the “Obama Depression”. Congress does not get pinned with this stuff," - Erik Erikson, RedState.
What shocks the conscience here is that Erikson isn't denying that the U.S. might lose its bond rating and spiral into a depression - he just thinks a win for Team R is worth causing immense suffering to millions of people around the world.  And House Republicans appear to be reading this.
Historians of course will always debate what Obama does right or wrong in this case, but, besides the sad note that apparently Republican Congressmen listen to shit like this, I wonder why he thinks Obama's name will literally be attached to what would be known as The Great Depression II. After all, it's never called "The FDR Depression." Meanwhile, the name "Herbert Hoover" is mentioned for about 2 seconds in any high school history class, while weeks can be spent discussing The Great Depression. The dramatics of finger-pointing in a 24/7 media world are fun, but but rarely discussed in a partisan way by serious people once history settles into the rear-view mirror.

Hang onto the Tee-shirt. It's gonna be worth something someday.

The lunatics that comprise the modern GOP know nothing about The Great Depression.

The lunatics that comprise the modern GOP know nothing about the Fall of the Soviet Union.

Their grandparents caused the first, yet, out of ignorance and greed, they're forcing the United States into a situation much like the second.

Mitch McConnell, John Boehner, and Eric Cantor are criminals. Stop them.
