I was clowning around with everybody else in my office in the parking lot for about 20 minutes before hearing that the earthquake's epicenter was Richmond, VA. Sistatime! lives in Richmond. I had no phone service so I couldn't call her, and by the time I got back inside and checked online I saw that no injuries had been reported, so I didn't think I had to worry TOO much, so I did whatever any concerned, classy gentleman would do: sent an email.
I haven't heard back, and while I'm sure she's okay I'd like to call and check in on her, but now I feel like I've crossed the line time-wise, and instead of getting a "I'm fine, thanks for checking in" reaction I'm gonna get the "HOW THE FUCK CAN YOU WAIT AN HOUR TO FUCKING CALL ME? This is the first earthquake in Virginia IN 114 YEARS, ASSHOLE!! " one.
But I have decided to simply step up and do the right thing. Obviously, I'm gonna claim total ignorance once I do talk to her. "Earthquake? What the - there was an earthquake? OH MY GOD ARE YOU OKAY?!??"
