I like it when political candidates, in particular those embroiled in personal scandal, scold the media by saying "hey, you can come after me, that's fine, but don't you dare go after my family!!" And then if someone in the media "comes after them!", ie asks a "gotcha!" question, ie not a softball lobbed by a plant from their own organization, they respond with extreme indignation by crying that the media is "coming after them!" and then not bothering to answer the question anyway. They never say "First of all, thank you for coming after me and not my family," or "well, I did say you could come after me..." And of course the media never says "hey, you said we could come after you! It's on YouTube!" Endless cycle.
Just once I'd like to hear a candidate say "please, please, whatever you do, don't come after me...my family? Oh, sure, you can go after them, what the fuck do I care?"
