Pit Bullshit

Sully for a coupla days has been musing on the "bad reputation" of pit bulls, and people who own pit bulls are indignant since of course their pit bull curls up with their baby and licks rainbows onto it's head. 

But it seems to me that while I'm sure not every pit bull has chewed the face off of a kid, every time a kid has had his face chewed off it's been done by a pit bull.  You never hear of, say, a cocker spaniel snapping and needing to be shot to have his jaws unlocked from someone's throat.  It's like the general notion that while of course not all Republicans are racists, all racists seem to be Republicans.
