The Curious Case of the Houston Rockets

From his rookie year though 1989, ie 10 seasons, there were only two years in which Magic didn't go to the NBA Finals. In both of those seasons, the West was represented by the Houston Rockets.

Meanwhile, the only team to win the NBA title during Jordan's Reign of Terror of the 1990s was the Houston Rockets, who won it twice.

Meanwhile (again), the team Jordan beat to win his first title, in what would be Magic's final playoff game? The Lakers.

Mind blown?

Well. not really, but still. The Rockets have a unique place in NBA history, and yet it's hard to think of a more forgettable team.
