Voting Confusion

Amendment One might have passed in North Carolina, although it may be due to confusion:
Opponents received reports earlier in the day that young voters in some areas were given incorrect ballots preventing them from voting on the amendment. Conservatives are celebrating a victory, but the vote count so far seems to mirror polling that consistently found that voters were largely unaware of the full impact of the measure. The majority of people in North Carolina clearly do not support this kind of anti-gay discrimination, but misinformation won the day.
Maybe it's sour grapes, maybe such accusations are right or wrong, I have no idea; but it is exactly what I warned of a coupla years ago, probably because I'm a genius:
To me, the thing about California voting to ban gay marriage is that I wonder how many people vote while confused about the question. For instance, whenever I hear that "California voted YES", my first thought is "California voted yes TO GAY MARRIAGE;" after a few seconds I realize that they voted yes to BANNING GAY MARRIAGE. Seems mildly confusing; I'm not saying it would change the outcome, but I wonder how many votes got switched because of it.
