Oh, Mittney.

The did Mittney mislead people re: the time frame of his leaving Bain capital story is getting some legs:
Stephanie Cutter, Obama’s deputy campaign manager, told reporters Thursday that either Romney was misrepresenting his position at Bain to the SEC “which is a felony, or he was misrepresenting his position at Bain to the American people to avoid responsibility for some of the consequences of his investments. And if that’s the case – if he was lying to American people -- then that’s a real character and trust issue that the American people need to take very seriously.”
Apparently after "leaving the company", Mittney was still paid $100,000 for each of the two years, which could be what bites him in the end.

First of all, if you're a gazillionaire, don't be dumb enough to get bit in the ass for $100k/year. I mean, camon - that's a 12:01am whuppin', for fuck's sake.

Secondly, while it's pointless to even wonder if he'll REALLY pay for this since money trumps any felony and character the Cutter person mentions, the timing is at least comically bad, as Sully points out:
I note that the Romney camp has not denied that Romney was paid $100,000 a year while they say he was doing nothing. Which adds a little irony to Romney's recent rhetorical flourish:
"if they (Obamacare supporters) want more stuff from government tell them to go vote for the other guy – more free stuff. But don’t forget nothing is really free."
Except a $100,000 salary for a job you insist you weren't doing?
Zzzzzzingaaaaah!!
