VP Debate

I know people are trying to whine about Biden cutting off Ryan 62,339 times or whatever, but at least that feels like a real "debate." Them sitting in chairs also offered an informality that invited natural interruptions. All this is in contrast to Obama/Romney robotically reciting talking points and never really challenging each other directly.

I thought Biden definitely won. Ryan was good, but Biden came off as much more off the cuff and compassionate. In Ryan's defense, he was hamstrung by having to repeat Romney's Fantasyland promises, as well as having to remember which side of which issue Romney may have landed on as Ryan walked onto the debate floor.

Watching them debate was much more enjoyable because even though they went after each other, I felt like they really did like each other, unlike Obama/Romney. I mean, you can see the two of them after the debate go throw some darts or whatnot. "Let's go get some cooze," I imagine Biden saying.

So we got to see Biden's backyard BBQ, half in the bag Vice Prosidential behavior because of chair placement. Why not? The pub-like informality both invites and excuses Biden's inappropriate behaviors. Letterman for moderator.
