I'm a bit disappointed re: the lack of hub-bub about this being the 100th anniversary of the Titanic sinking (as opposed to it doing anyfuckingthing else, I suppose). I feel like were it not for Downton Abbey, nobody woulda noticed. Meanwhile DA spurred an interest in WWI, the Spanish Flu, made me read Lady Chatterly's Lover, and on and on. A Tree Grows in Brooklyn took place partly in 1912. A big year, seemingly.
I can't for the life of me think of anything that happened in 1913 other than John McCain graduating high school. Hmm.
