As you already know I was somewhat disappointed when I finally saw the film version of Grapes of Wrath, if only because
1. It's my favrotie book of all-time
2. It's just impossible to pack a trip like that into 2 hours
However, I have no interest in seeing an updated version via Spielberg. I find it impossible he can do better, and if anything the rattly black and white film added a layer of greatness to such a melancholy movie. I don't need it "modernized." Lemme guess: Ma Joad exclaiming "oh HELL no!" as the "Ya'll ready for this?!" kicks in.
